About the Event
Your trainer is Rhiannon Donoghue, an Equine Behavioural Consultant and international Western rider and barrel racer.
You will bring your own horse. English tack is fine. (NB please wear your BRC standard riding hat for insurance purposes, even if you own a Stetson!)
The session is two and a half hours long in a group of five. The first approx 30 minutes will be a talk introducing Western Riding and the differences and showing the features of Western tack. This will be followed by a 2 hour ridden session. Rhiannon will start by assessing the horses way of going and alter that to suit the western style of riding. Including but not limited to, neck reining, moving off the leg in different ways. Then she may cover things such as roping, barrels and pole bending.
