About the Event

Double European medallist Erin Orford is a leading International Para Dressage Rider for Team GBR. A member of the World Class Podium Squad, Erin has competed both nationally and internationally for over 10 years, and is a familiar face on the circuit, with numerous titles to her name. The highlight of her career so far, Erin and Dior returned from the FEI European Championships in Sweden as Gold and Bronze medallists! 2018 saw Erin and Dior selected for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, USA where Team GBR won the Silver medal.

When Erin was born the bones in her lower legs and knees hadn't formed properly and she was missing the radius in both her arms, meaning she has shorter lower arms and only four fingers on each hand. Her parents were told that she would never be able to walk and that she would either be wheelchair bound or they could opt to have both of her legs amputated. At the age of one she had the operation and learned to walk in prosthetic legs.

A qualified UKCC Level 2 Dressage coach, Erin has her sights set on the Tokyo 2021 Paralympics and beyond. Alongside her riding and coaching commitments, Erin works part-time in Digital Communications, is an Athlete Mentor for the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust and attends various events as a motivational speaker.
